About Us . . .

Dr. Jim Codington began The Country Vet as a large animal practice in 1981. At that time, the hospital premises was his home where he raised his family. In the late 80’s, Dr. Codington transitioned to a small animal practice and in 1993, expanded the hospital to incorporate the entire building as you know it today.

Over the years, as business increased, Dr. Codington invited a number of wonderful veterinarians to join his team. We now have 4 full time veterinarians on staff. (Read more about our staff by clicking on the "Meet Our Staff" link to the left).

Our hospital is unique in that we not only offer the latest equipment and technological tools for diagnosing and treating disease, we also offer a variety of alternative therapies and approaches to preventive care and disease management. This creates a challenging environment that keeps our staff learning and growing. Dr. Codington has high expectations of all his staff members which helps maintain the excellent quality of care that has set us apart from other veterinary hospitals.

Our pets are a huge part of our family.  For many of us, especially those who don't have kids, our furry friends are our children. We understand the bond that exists between pets and their human counterparts. We will continually strive to strengthen that bond by keeping your pets healthy and happy.
